In 1993 Hank Risan and Scott Chinery decided to approach D'Aquisto with the idea of making a modernistic series of guitars based upon Risan's D'Aquisto Avant Garde prototype. The D'Aquisto Centura Deluxe is finished in a bold blue sunburst and was the catalyst for Chinery's Blue Guitar project.
