This is a "Style 45" custom model built by the Larson Brothers of Chicago. It was created a year before the first 14-fret D-45 was produced (1936). This Prairie State has all the modern features associated with Dreadnought construction. Circa 1939 the owner of the guitar had the tuners upgraded by the Larsons to Kluson Sealfasts. The Catalin knobs were custom-made to resemble the shape of the headstock. This is one of the most exciting guitars in the Dreadnought collection because it foreshadows a style of design and ornament that is still popular today.
